Air Filter
Like your home’s air filter, an engine’s air filter is there to filter out dirt, dust, and other foreign matter. Did you know that most of the dirt in your engine enters through a dirty air filter? Your engine’s air filter plays an important role as it prevents dirt from entering into the combustion chamber thus reducing the chances of internal damage and wear. A new air filter can increase airflow, improve overall engine performance, and in some cases add additional horsepower. Considering most of us drive in the harshest of conditions such as heavy idling in traffic, driving on dusty roads, and heavy towing, be sure to replace the air filter in your vehicle regularly.

About Hengst
Hengst, German for “Stallion”, has been one of the most innovative companies in the automotive industry when it comes to fluid management and filtration systems. Founded in 1958 by Walter Hengst, the Hengst corporation has been in the automotive industry for over fifty years and during that time they’ve developed special relationships with Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. Today, Hengst is under the direction of Walter’s grandson, Jens Rottgering, and goes by the new name of Hengst SE & Co. KG. They are responsible for a wide array of fluid management systems and are OEM (original equipment manufacturer) for several carmakers. For example, Hengst produces the fluid management module for Mercedez-Benz and an oil mist separator for Porsche. Hengst is also known for its high-quality air and oil filters, as well as its crankcase ventilation systems. Founded during a time of many new beginnings and developments, the company kept pace with the constantly developing and fast-growing automotive industry. This was the core business back then and it still is today.
