Product Information
Replace your BMW fuel filter every 20,000km or two years
The fuel filter protects your BMW’s engine from fuel contaminants such as dust, dirt, and other impurities that build in the fuel tank. Over time the fuel filter can build up enough debris in the filter medium restricting fuel flow and fuel pressure.
Autobahn Traders recommends replacing fuel filters every 20,000km or 2 years for the best protection.

Fuel Filter
It is important to keep all dirt and foreign matter out of your fuel system to ensure its optimum performance. A clogged fuel filter can reduce engine performance as well as increase the load on the fuel pump which can potentially burn out its motor. It can be difficult to know when the fuel filter needs to be changed, so we suggest changing your fuel filter at your car manufacturer’s suggested intervals, which is often during a tune-up.

Recommended – Fuel System Cleaner by Liqui Moly LM2030. It’s a good idea to use this cleaner when installing a fuel filter for added longevity of fuel system components. This cleaner removes carbon and other deposits from fuel distributors and injector valves – effective on all injector systems.

Fuel Filter Failure Symptoms
Low Fuel Pressure
Poor Engine Performance
Hesitation on Acceleration
Failed Fuel Pump

About Hengst
Hengst, German for “Stallion”, has been one of the most innovative companies in the automotive industry when it comes to fluid management and filtration systems. Founded in 1958 by Walter Hengst, the Hengst corporation has been in the automotive industry for over fifty years and during that time they’ve developed special relationships with Mercedes-Benz and Porsche. Today, Hengst is under the direction of Walter’s grandson, Jens Rottgering, and goes by the new name of Hengst SE & Co. KG. They are responsible for a wide array of fluid management systems and are OEM (original equipment manufacturer) for several carmakers. For example, Hengst produces the fluid management module for Mercedez-Benz and an oil mist separator for Porsche. Hengst is also known for its high-quality air and oil filters, as well as its crankcase ventilation systems. Founded during a time of many new beginnings and developments, the company kept pace with the constantly developing and fast-growing automotive industry. This was the core business back then and it still is today.
